ROTBTD AU » Once Upon A Time - Jackunzel
"Actually, one thing does feel right. You. The only thing here that feels real … is you."Once Upon A Time, Jack Overlander chanced upon meeting the Princess Rapunzel — who was well-renowned for her hair’s magical healing abilities - at the frozen lake he constantly visited every winter. The princess in question occasionally snuck out of her palace to explore the world. Jack immediately recognizes her, despite her being tiara-less and in common wear, and kneels down, unconsciously placing a hand to his heart. “Milady,” he says, blinking, unable to keep his eyes off of her. It is not until she turns to face him that he sees fear in her eyes - sees the shakiness of her form - and realizes they were both in danger. The ice splintered beneath them, miniature lightning-shaped ruptures zipping their way passed their feet, surrounding them. In a calm, commanding voice she utters, “You must leave. You’ll die if you stay here.” To which Jack replies with a, “Not a chance, Princess. Not without you.” Jack saves Rapunzel’s life - but his sudden movement cracks the ice open, and he falls in, disappearing into the freezing water.Rapunzel wishes upon the Man in the Moon, praying for a miracle, that the boy who saved her would return to her. The Man in the Moon hears her wish, and grants Jack Frost life again - but all magic comes with a price, and Jack was reborn as a winter spirit, and would live forever. After learning of Rapunzel’s near-death experience, her mother, Queen Gothel, forbids Rapunzel from ever leaving the castle, and locks her away at the top-most tower. This doesn’t stop Jack from visiting her daily, and the two spend almost every waking hour together.Gothel learns of Jack Frost, and immediately feels threatened. After all, Rapunzel’s hair is the only reason she still has her youth and her beauty - should Rapunzel run away with him, and let anything happen to that hair of her’s, Gothel’d be gone forever. In an attempt to get rid of Jack Frost for good, Gothel sends Pitch Black to destroy him - only for Rapunzel to counter the attack, sacrificing her golden hair to save Jack’s life.As Gothel begins to wither and fade, she makes one final deal with Pitch Black - she would give anything so long as Pitch could create a curse so powerful that she would not have to live in constant fear of her death - that Rapunzel’s magical hair would no longer have power over her life. Pitch Black smirks, his eyes glinting with the dawn of a new world, and says, “The only way to do that is to erase all magic - to go to a world where Magic does not exist.”Now in Our World, in Storybrook, no one remembers who they used to be - no one recalls that they are actually fairy tale characters. But as it always is, all magic comes with a price - and sometimes the smallest sign of recognition, or a mere glance in the right direction, or a chance meeting at one’s doorstep - can easily turn the tide."Uhm, Hi. Sorry to disturb you so late but … Are you alright? I heard noises coming from this direction-"

Watch!: And when you started out, there were almost no Asian-Americans on TV. Now you’re Watson. The TV my Asian-American daughter grows up watching will be very different than what I grew up watching.
Lucy: It is significant, and I think we still have a long way to go. It is good that you’ll have to explain to her that when Daddy was a teenager, there wasn’t anybody like her on television. People say I’m a pioneer, but I don’t recognize it because I’m still living it. Maybe on my last breath if they name a street after me in the city, I’ll say, “Wow, I made a difference.” Right now, it doesn’t feel like it. [x]

"The girl gave off an aura of distinct dottiness. Perhaps it was the fact that she had stuck her wand behind her left ear for safekeeping, or that she had chosen to wear a necklace of butterbeer caps, or that she was reading a magazine upside down."
